GAINESVILLE -- Lakeview Academy held Athens Christian to just two points in the first quarter en route to a 52-23 win in Region 8-A girls basketball action Tuesday night.<br />

The Lady Lions (10-10, 9-3 in subregion) jumped out to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter and used a 15-7 second quarter to take a 31-9 halftime lead.<br />

Athens Christian cut the lead to 37-20 after the third quarter but Lakeview held the Lady Eagles to just three points in the fourth quarter.<br />

Janelle Francis lead Lakeview with 11 points. Louisa Jacobs and Maddie Haymore each had 10 for the Lady Lions.<br />

Athens Christian was led by Stephanie Homontowski with a game-high 12 points.
