ATLANTA - The state's gasoline tax is about to go down.
The gas tax will drop by about 4 cents a gallon Thursday.
State Revenue Commissioner Bart Graham tells the Georgia News Network it's because the tax is re-set twice a year based on the price at the pump. And, because the price is down considerably since the last time it was adjusted, we'll realize the savings when we fill up starting New Year's Day.
Graham says the decrease could be even more than 4 cents.
