Thunderstorm watch

UNDATED - A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been posted for several counties in Georgia, including some in the Gainesville area.

Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Watch remains in place for many of the same counties covered by the thunderstorm watch.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
951 IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST THURSDAY AFTERNOON FOR THE FOLLOWING
AREAS:

IN GEORGIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES THESE COUNTIES:

CLARKE COLUMBIA ELBERT
FRANKLIN GLASCOCK GREENE
HABERSHAM HALL HART
JACKSON JEFFERSON LINCOLN
MCDUFFIE MADISON OCONEE
OGLETHORPE RICHMOND STEPHENS
TALIAFERRO WARREN WILKES

In addition to the Flash Flood Watch and the Severe Thunderstorm Watch, a Tornado Watch remains in effect for four counties in south Georgia... Montgomery, Emanuel, Toombs, and Truetlen. This includes the cities of Mount Vernon, Soperton, Swainsboro and Vidalia.
