CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Carolina Panthers have the NFC South lead all to themselves this morning after grinding out a 38-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. <br />

DeAngelo Williams rushed for a career-high 186 yards and two touchdowns and Jonathan Stewart ran for 115 yards a pair of scores as the Panthers improved to 10-and-3. <br />

Carolina set a team rushing record for the second time in a month. This time the Panthers totaled 299 yards on the ground against the NFC's top defense. The Bucs had allowed only one rushing TD all season. <br />

The teams were tied at 17 in the fourth quarter until Stewart plunged in from four yards out for the go-ahead score. Williams added TD runs of 16 and 36 yards as the Panthers outscored the Bucs 21-6 in the final period. <br />

The Bucs wasted a career performance from Antonio Bryant who had nine catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns, including one for the highlight reel a one-handed TD grab with 2:29 left. <br />

Tampa Bay at 9-and-4 falls a game behind the Panthers in the NFC South.
