Georgia notebook: Bulldogs keep 'getting after it'

By staff reports
ATHENS -- The No. 14-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (7-2, 4-2 SEC) practiced for two just over two hours in full pads on Tuesday afternoon as they continue to prepare for this Saturday's game with Kentucky (6-3, 2-3) in Lexington.

"It was an outstanding practice," head coach Mark Richt announced following the session. "We got back to work with a great bunch of guys. They really got after it, and we got done what we needed to get done."

With the time change on Sunday, the Bulldogs moved the session from their grass practice fields to the FieldTurf. The practice wrapped up under the lights.

Earlier on Tuesday, Richt held his weekly press conference at Stegeman Coliseum where he discussed Saturday's date with the Wildcats at length.

"I'm glad we have a 12:30 kickoff; the sooner the better for us," Richt said. "Kentucky is a team that beat us two years ago at their place. They are a team that last year beat the national champion LSU team and also jumped on us 10-0. We were losing 10-7 at halftime. It was all we could do to get back in that thing. We did score on the first two drives of the second half and took the lead and held on to it. They had a game that got away from them, the common theme for the Florida Gators. They took it to them pretty good as they did to us. If you take that one game out of the mix, they are 6-2 besides that game. The two losses are a three-point loss to Alabama and a seven-point loss to South Carolina. We know both of those teams are outstanding football teams."

Raycom will televise Saturday's game regionally, with kick off slated for 12:34 p.m. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on WDUN AM-550. The radio audio also can be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics, and on XM satellite radio.
