Tommy Bowden won't attend Clemson game vs. father

By The Associated Press
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Don't look for Clemson's former football coach at the annual Bowden Bowl.

Tommy Bowden said in a text message Monday to The Associated Press that he won't be attending the Tigers game this weekend at Florida State. It will mark the first time in 10 seasons the game won't feature a coaching battle between Tommy and his father, Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden.

Tommy had won the past three games, and four of the last five, against his dad.
Tommy Bowden stepped away from Clemson on Oct. 13, saying it was best for the program.

The Tigers (4-4) and interim coach Dabo Swinney snapped a three-game losing streak last Saturday with a 27-21 victory at Boston College.
