Florida's Tebow 100 percent after knee injury

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida quarterback Tim Tebow played the last two-plus games with a hyper-extended knee, but coach Urban Meyer said Thursday that last year's Heisman Trophy winner has fully recovered from the injury.

Tebow hurt his knee Oct. 4 against Arkansas, tweaking it late in the third quarter while chasing a defender following his first interception of the season.

Meyer said he didn't know about the injury until earlier this week, when he spotted Tebow in the training room and the junior told him his knee was feeling better.

``He tweaked it a little bit, but he's never missed any time,'' Meyer said Thursday, two days before the fifth-ranked Gators play No. 8 Georgia in Jacksonville. ``Just sore. He never tells you anything. ... The other day he told me, 'Boy, my knee's feeling really good.' I said, 'Your knee? What are you talking about?' He's fine. He's 100 percent.''

The results agree. Tebow has led Florida to 135 points in the last nine quarters all since his injury.

Florida piled up 21 points in the fourth quarter against the Razorbacks, then scored 51 and 63 in consecutive wins against LSU and Kentucky.

Tebow has completed 30 of 41 passes for 473 yards, with five touchdowns and one interception since his injury. He also has carried 22 times for 71 yards and three scores.

Meyer said he didn't notice any problems with Tebow's mobility.

``I haven't, but that intrigued me when he said that,'' Meyer said. ``He doesn't come to me about anything. He told me last year he was 100 percent before we played Georgia and I later found he couldn't pick his arm up.''

Tebow bruised his non-throwing shoulder against Kentucky last year and took a painkilling shot before Florida played the Bulldogs and before every game the rest of the season. The injury clearly limited him as he was sacked a career-high six times.

Meyer said he wasn't upset Tebow hid his latest injury.

``I get mad at guys that miss class, not at guys who tough out injuries,'' Meyer said. ``He's fine. Go to sleep tonight knowing he's fine.''
