Georgia's Boling named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week

By Staff reports
ATHENS -- University of Georgia sophomore Clint Boling has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, according to an announcement by the league office on Monday.

Boling, a 6-foot-5, 286-pound native of Alpharetta, helped pave the way for 458 yards of total offense during No. 10 Georgia's 26-14 win over Tennessee. This marked the fourth time that the Bulldog offensive line has recorded at least 450 yards in a game in 2008.

After starting the game at right guard, Boling was forced to move over to left tackle after junior starter Vince Vance went down with a season-ending knee injury. Georgia's offensive line allowed no sacks of Matthew Stafford and gave the junior quarterback time to complete career highs in both pass completions (25) and yards (310).

The Bulldogs lead the league in both total offense (430.3 yards/game) and passing offense (271.2 yards/game). Through six games, Georgia has been forced to start three different combinations on the line with Boling starting at two different spots (right tackle, right guard).

The No. 10 Bulldogs welcome No. 22 Vanderbilt to Sanford Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 18 for homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Raycom. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on WDUN AM-550. The radio audio also can be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the
official website of UGA Athletics, and on XM satellite radio.
