Falcons, War Eagles roll to big 7-AAA wins

GAINESVILLE - The high-powered offenses of Flowery Branch and Chestatee had huge nights Friday in taking big Region 7-AAA wins at home.

Ethan Souther and Chestatee exploded against Gilmer leading 50-0 at halftime as quarterback Ethan Souther had three rushing TDs and one TD passing pass TDs in the first half en route to a 57-0 thumping of the Bobcats.

Conner Shaw and Flowery Branch jumped on North Hall early and then the Falcons defense did the rest in a 35-7 win at Falcons Field. The Trojans did not score until 17 seconds were left in the game.

West Hall held off a furious fourth quarter rally by Johnson to win 56-55 in the Battle of Oakwood. The Knights scored with 20 seconds left and went for two points and the win but were sacked. The Knights then recoveredthe onside kick but the Spartans defense again sacked quarterback Anthony Profit to preserve the win.

In other 7-AAA action, Lumpkin County whipped Pickens 17-0 and Creekview beat White County 33-0.

In Region 8-A action, Social Circle spoiled Lakeview Academy's first Homecoming with a 28-0 win over the Lions.

In a big Region 7-AAAAA matchup, Peachtree Ridge rallied from an early deficit to beat Mill Creek 17-9.
