CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson coach Tommy Bowden didn't search the Internet or scour news stories critical of the Tigers and his leadership this week.
But he knows they were out there and understands they were deserved.
Bowden says Clemson fans have a right to be angry after the Tigers' stunning 20-17 loss to Maryland on Sept. 27.
Bowden says the defeat, like most all in his career, left him sick to his stomach. Bowden says he's happy to be on a campus where the sport is considered so vital.
So when the Tigers (3-2, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) start the year in the top 10, and are out of the rankings after five games, Bowden thinks he deserves the harsh critiques that come his way.
Clemson takes on No. 21 Wake Forest (3-1, 1-0) Thursday night.
