GSC Politically Incorrect Club kicking off election year

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
OAKWOOD - The Politically Incorrect Club at Gainesville State College is ready to kick off election year.

It will do so Monday by hosting Travis Jones, a representative of the Ron Paul presidential campaign.

The meeting is open to the public and will be at 12:00 in Academic LL Building Room 103 on the Oakwood campus.

According to the Club's Advisor, Dr. Douglas Young, "The Paul campaign called and offered to speak to us and we gladly accepted the offer." He went on to say, "Of course, any and all of the other campaigns are most welcome to speak to us as well."

On another note, the club is conducting a campus-wide presidential primary for students, staff and faculty on January 29 and 30. The Club hopes to generate more student interest and voter participation in the Georgia presidential primary the following week.

The club conducted such a campus primary just before the 2004 Georgia presidential primary. The participation "was great," according to Young, with well over 400 students, staff and faculty voting.
