Carter chosen to lead Georgia chamber in 2012

ATLANTA - A Gainesville real estate executive is in line to become chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in five years.

Doug Carter, president of Don Carter Realty, will become the second Gainesvillian to head the state chamber in recent years.

Phillip Wilheit held the post several years ago.

"We've had a long tradition of people here in our community that have been very active with the Georgia chamber," Carter said. "I've been really involved with the organization and I see the great benefits it is doing on the statewide level for the business community."
