CHARLESTON, S.C. - Louis Graham scored 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting to lead Georgia Southern to a 73-52 win over The Citadel on Saturday.
The Eagles (11-5, 4-2 Southern Conference) never trailed after the first four minutes of the game, shooting 58.3 percent (28-of-48) from the field and making 11-of-18 3-pointers, compared to 40.4 percent field goal shooting (21-of-52) and 7-of-23 from behind the arc for the Bulldogs (5-10, 0-6).
Georgia Southern's lead was just 38-35 at the half, but the Eagles opened the second half on an 8-2 run. The Citadel trailed 54-47 with 11:53 to go after Cameron Wells' three-point play, but Georgia Southern then scored 14 points in a row to put the game away.
Wells led The Citadel with 16 points, while Tyrell McDowell added 12 points.
Dwayne Foreman and Willie Powers each added 12 points for Georgia Southern.
