ATLANTA (AP)The Sabres led 1-0 until Hossa, Pascal Dupuis (doo-PWEE') and Colin Stuart scored consecutive unassisted goals. Hossa made it 4-1 early in the third period, and Kovalchuk added an empty-netter after the Sabres drew within two goals.

Johan Hedberg stopped 37 shots for the Thrashers, who are within three points of first-place Carolina in the Southeast Division.

Thomas Vanek and Clarke MacArthur scored for the the Sabres, losers of six straight.
