SANDY TOWNSHIP, Penn. - A Gainesville teenager has been killed in a traffic accident in Pennsylvania.
The Staten Island (N.Y.) reports that Kristeena Marie Zampella, 19, formerly of Staten Island died in a three-car accident while driving through Sandy Township, Penn., while on her way to Elkgrove Village, Ill., to visit her boyfriend.
The newspaper said in Saturday's editions Zampella heading down an Interstate 80 off-ramp on Thursday and drove into the intersection of Route 255 where the driver's side of her car was struck by a van. She was was pronounced dead at Dubois Medical Center, Dubois, Penn.
Zampella, a graduate of Chestatee High School, was studying film at the Art Institute of Atlanta. She was transferring to the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg to continue her studies.
While at Chestatee, she was editor of the school yearbook, belonged to the drama club and homecoming committee and was a member of the prom court, according to the newspaper.
