Coca-Cola cutting 100-125 jobs in North America unit in a move to boost profits

<p>The Coca-Cola Co., the world's largest beverage maker, said Wednesday that it will cut 100 to 125 jobs by the end of the year in its North American unit as part of a reorganization designed to spur growth and boost profits.</p><p>The cuts will be among the more than 3,500 full-time non-hourly U.S.-based employees in Coke's North America unit, spokeswoman Lori Billingsley said.</p><p>She said employees who lose their jobs will be offered severance packages.</p><p>Atlanta-based Coca-Cola shares fell 68 cents, or 1.2 percent, to $53.69 Wednesday.</p><p>___</p><p>On the Net:</p><p>HASH(0x2e10a4c)</p>
