Alcoa to close Georgia plant

<p>Aluminum manufacturer Alcoa Inc. said Monday it has agreed to sell two U.S. soft-alloy extrusion facilities and plans to close a third plant.</p><p>Alcoa did not release the terms of its agreement with Colorado-based Golden Aluminum for the sale of the plants in Warren, Ohio, and Plant City, Fla. The Ohio plant employs 130 people and the Florida plant has 200 workers, the company said.</p><p>The company said it will close its soft-alloy extrusion facility in Tifton, Ga., which employs about 200 people, by the end of October. Alcoa said it will offer severance and work assistance to the workers.</p><p>The plants being sold make metals used in building and construction and in the commercial transportation industry.</p>
