GAINESVILLE - A building permit for a new school helped boost the value of all building permits issued in Gainesville and Hall County last month to more than $38 million.

The $12 million permit for the county's new elementary school in South Hall is included in the July reports from the city and could building inspection services offices.

Between the two offices, there were also 119 permits approved for new, single-family homes. Of that total, all but 18 were for new homes outside the city.
