CUMMING - Two people have died this week in Forsyth County traffic accidents.
Beverly J. Strickland, 56, of Cumming died Tuesday as a result of injuries she sustained in an August 19th accident.
According to Sheriff Ted Paxton, Strickland suffered head injuries from the crash and was on life support at North Fulton Hospital.
Paxton says Strickland crossed over the centerline when she was traveling northbound on Peachtree Parkway. She then side-swiped one vehicle and struck another head on near the intersection of Mathis Aiport Road.
The driver of the third vehicle, Chia Wu Yin, 32, of Norcross, was transported to the hospital. The driver of the second vehicle, Jacob Thomas, 46, of Cumming, as well as a passenger in his vehicle, was not injured.
In a separate wreck, Wonnie O'Shields, 45, of Cumming was found dead Wednesday morning in the parking lot of a business as a result of an early morning crash.
Paxton says O'Shields was found dead as a result of injuries he sustained in a collision. An employee of Cherokee Music, located on Georgia Highway 400 near Crossroads Road, found O'Shields lying in the parking lot around 9 a.m.
Sheriff Paxton said O'Shields had apparently wrecked his vehicle, crawled out the back window of his truck, and began walking. O'Shields then collapsed in the parking lot of the music store where he was later discovered by the employee.
Preliminary investigations show that O'Shields was traveling northbound on Ga. Hwy. 400 when his vehicle left the roadway, struck two unoccupied parked vehicles before coming to rest in front of the business's parking lot.
The collision is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Unit. Anyone with ave information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Traffic Specialist Unit at 770-205-4631.
