Man dies after Gwinnett County deputies use Taser on him

<p>A man died after sheriff's deputies used a Taser stun gun to subdue him during an altercation at an apartment complex.</p><p>Carlos Rodriguez, 27, died Wednesday at a hospital from injuries he received during a fight with two deputies.</p><p>The deputies first went to the apartment complex to serve an unrelated eviction. But they noticed Rodriguez, who appeared heavily intoxicated, said Stacey Bourbonnais, spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department.</p><p>When deputies approached him, "he became combative and got into a physical confrontation with them," the sheriff's department said in a news release. Another man tried to subdue Rodriguez by using a chokehold, authorities said.</p><p>An autopsy was to be done and the two deputies were placed on paid administrative leave while the incident is being investigated.</p><p>Rodriguez is the third person to die after being shocked with a Taser by Gwinnett County deputies. Ray Charles Austin died after being shocked by deputies at the Gwinnett County Jail in September 2003.
