GAINESVILLE - The number of permits approved for new, single-family homes in Gainesville increased last month.
The city's Building Inspection Services Office reports issuing 28 such permits during June; in May, the number was 20.
Meanwhile, a single permit for a $12.5 million project - the Frances Meadows Aquatic and Community Center - helped boost to more than $71 million the value of all the building permits issued in the city last month.
