Council to consider Pearl Nix Pkwy. parking

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City Council considers changing the rules governing parking along Pearl Nix Parkway Tuesday.

Council members are being asked to remove the prohibition against parking on either side of Pearl Nix Parkway from Browns Bridge Road to Chestatee Road.

The same proposal would, however, continue the ban on the east side of the street from John Morrow Parkway to Chestatee But, it would allow it along the west side - next to the popular Longwood Park.

Also on the agenda: final reading on a proposal to raise the pay for members of the council to $125 per meeting, from $75, and plans for a 113-lot subdivision on Floyd Road and Lenox Drive.
