Ga. man leads police to bodies believed to be missing pair

<p>A Georgia man accused of murdering a mother and her son has led police to two bodies believed to be his victims, a South Carolina coroner said Thursday.</p><p>Denver Jordan Simmons, 25, confessed Wednesday night to killing Sheila Faye Dodd, 45, and her 14-year-old son William, and helped authorities find the remains, Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey said.</p><p>Harvey said he could not positively identify the bodies, which he were sent to the Medical University of South Carolina for further analysis. But based on Simmons' statements to authorities Wednesday night, Harvey said he was fairly certain authorities had located the bodies of the woman and her son.</p><p>"Until we can get positive identification, we're pretty sure that's who it is, but until we can get DNA and stuff like that done, we can only speculate it was the Dodds," Harvey said.</p><p>Dodd and her son had been missing since May 1. Television stations WCBD and WCSC in Charleston reported Simmons confessed to killing Dodd, an acquaintance, after arguing with her and then killed the boy because he was a witness.</p><p>Simmons was arrested Monday at a Chattanooga, Tenn., psychiatric hospital where authorities have said he checked in shortly after the slayings. An arrest warrant accuses Simmons, of Flintstone, Ga., of shooting the two and "then attempting to dispose of the bodies."</p><p>Family members have said Dodd was a kind widow living on her family's farm and had no nearby neighbors.</p><p>Round O is 30 miles west of Charleston.</p>
