New hospital planned for Gilmer Co.

ELLIJAY - Plans are in the works for a new hospital in Gilmer County, according to Norton Native Intelligence Marketwatch.

Hospital officials are still waiting on a certificate of need to be issued, but once that happens, construction can begin on the 30-million dollar facility. Administrators for the North Georgia Medical Center say the new hospital will feature all private rooms and the latest in medical technology.

The site for the new hospital is on Highway 525 near Ellijay just south of the Highlands Shopping Center.
