Expansion of Braselton Clinic planned

BRASELTON - Doctors at the Braselton Clinic have served more than 15,000 patients in just one year, and that means it's time to expand.

The clinic is an affiliate of Gaineville-based Northeast Georgia Health System. NGHS plans to double the size of the clinic this year, allowing the addition of a fourth physician and provision of more space for specialty physicians who see patients on a part-time basis.

Richard Tanzella, executive director of Physician Services for NGHS, says no one imagined that the clinic would need an expansion after just one year of service. "That's a great testament to the quality of service provided by our physicians and staff and to the great need for healthcare services in this area," noted Tanzella.

NGHS also has purchased a 119-acre site off Thompson Mill Road near the clinic for the development of a 100-bed inpatient hospital. That project is pending Certificate of Need approval from the Department of Community Health.

The Braselton Clinic is an internal medicine practice currently staffed by three board-certified physicians, Doctors Gary Dalley, James Jackson and John Buchanan. Physician assistant Lorie Campbell recently joined the staff.
