GAINESVILLE - March was an usually good month for new home construction in Gainesville.
The city reports issuing 58 permits for new, single-family housing during the month... compared to 142 for all of last year.
In the county, acitivity was about normal with 108 permits approved.
Total value of the new homes to be constructed with the permits issued in March in both the city and county is around $27.7 million.
