Man killed in accident at Buford landfill

BUFORD - A 63-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon in an accident at Richland Creek Landfill in Buford.

Lt. Tommy Rutledge with the Gwinnet County Fire Department says the man was killed when he was crushed between a piece of heavy equipment and a trailer.

Workers at the landfill were reportedly in the process of loading the tractor when the accident occurred.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

OSHA is investigating the incident.
