RABBITTOWN - The East Hall boys tennis team rallied with two doubles wins to take a 3-2 win over Lumpkin County Tuesday in Region 7A-AAA action.
East Hall improved 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the subregion.
Lumpkin took two of the three singles matches with Stephen Lubin winning a thrilling three-set match over Dustin Turpin 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) at No. 1 singles. Turpin suffered severe leg cramps during the entire third to put in a tremendous effort.
At No. 2, East Hall's Chase Robertsbeat Adam Fowler 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3) in another three-set battle and Lumpkin's Justin Reed knocked off Justin Richey 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
In the doubles, the Vikings' Chris 'Toasty" Ortega and Bryant Wine beat William Gaston and Alex Dege 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 while Chris Tribble and Jody Gee whipped Dillion Bollinger and Gerti Bardho 6-1, 6-1 to clinch the match.
