RMA wants in GHSA

GAINESVILLE - Riverside Military Academy has petitioned for membership in the Georgia High School Association.

The boys' college prep school is now a member of the Georgia Independent School Association.

RMA spokeswoman Kate Maine confirmed the request Tuesday. The school hopes becoming a member of the GHSA will cut down on travel time for its athletic teams.

No word on when GHSA officials might act on the application.
