Trojans run past field at Cedar Shoals

ATHENS - The North Hall Trojans boys track team put on a dominating team performance Saturday to win a 17-team meet at Cedar Shoals.

The Trojans finished with 106 points, beating second place Class AAAA Eastside (66) by 40 points. Class AAA Hart County had 63 points to finish third.

Bert Harrison led the way for North hall as the high point performer of the meet winning both the 1,600- and 800-meter races. He also was part of the third place 4x400 relay team along with Lamoris Burton, Fabian Jackson, and Johnny Jimenez that set a new school record with a time of 3:28.5.

Others winning events Saturday were Aaron Davis in the discus with a throw of 134 feet, 3 inches, and Nolan Clark in the 3,200 with a time of 10:13.

Those finishing second were Dayton Preslar in the discus (132-10); Burton in the triple jump (44-10) and 110 hurdles (:15.5); Jimenez in the 800 (2:04); and Grant Russell in the 3,200 (10:22).

Jackson also set a new school record in the 400-meter with a time of 51.3 seconds, good for third place. Jimenez was third in the 1,600 with a time of 4:46.

North Hall will play host to the Hall County Championships on Wednesday.
