GAINESVILLE - The North Hall golf team brought home the title in the Big Red Shootout, Monday, which featured thirteen teams throughout North Georgia at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. The Gainesville High School "A" team finished tied for fourth.
The tournament was scored on a Stableford format, meaning points were given out for eagles, birdies, pars and bogies. The Trojans finished with 143 points, while Alpharetta finished in second place with 139 points.
Gainesville finished tied with Habersham Central with 125 points.
There were plenty of local individual winners, as well.
North Hall's Alan Fowler had the most points, finishing with 45, while Alpharetta's Alex Castro finished in second place with 42.
A total of 66 players competed in the tournament.
Gainesville's Justin Cochran and the Trojans' Jimmy Lloyd finished tied for fifth place, individually, with 38 points each.
