Man sentenced to life for shooting jailer

<p>A man was sentenced to life in prison Friday for killing a Telfair County jailer while he lay in bed with his wife and infant son.</p><p>Keith Dubose, 22, shot Roscoe Latrell Harris on June 16, 2006, in what prosecutors said was a plot to get revenge for Harris' role in putting a wanted man behind bars. Harris, 32, supplied information that led deputies to his brother-in-law, Lamont Armstrong, who was wanted on drug charges.</p><p>Armstrong, of McRae, is serving a life sentence on those charges. He pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to commit murder.</p><p>Shenerica Clark, 20, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.</p><p>Both testified as state's witnesses this week, and are scheduled to be sentenced in May.</p><p>Authorities said Armstrong, jailed at the time of the shooting, said he wanted Harris dead. Clark, who was living with Harris and his wife at the time, told Dubose the morning of the shooting that Harris was home, authorities said.</p><p>Clark said she thought Dubose was simply going to frighten Harris, authorities said.</p><p>Harris' wife and son were not hurt in the incident.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9bc4)</p>
