Little Debbie Nutty Bars recalled

ATLANTA - State Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin says Little Debbie Nutty Bars are being recalled from Georgia and three other states because metal may be in an ingredient.

McKee Foods of Collegedale, Tenn., said the products were put in vending machines on February 1-2 in Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia.

Irvin said ``The company has asked that consumers who have purchased products identified with the codes in the recall to contact McKee Foods (at (800) 522-4499) for information and a full refund.''

According to the news release, the Nutty Bars are in the following retail packages -- 12-ounce guaranteed cartons, (12 bars, twin wrapped) with these carton-end codes: guaranteed fresh MAR 31 2007, 01302091 or guaranteed fresh APR 01 2007, 01312091; 25.2 oz. cartons, (24 bars, twin wrapped) with these carton-end codes: guaranteed fresh MAR 31 2007, 01302101 or guaranteed fresh, MAR 31 2007, 01302102; and 3 oz. single-serve packages (2 bars, twin wrapped) with this code: sell by APR 01 2007, 01312101.
