``I have enjoyed my college football experience at Clemson, but I am just ready to graduate and move into the business world,'' Nelson said.
Nelson redshirted his freshman season in 2003 and had another season of eligibility left.
He had 71 tackles and started 11 of Clemson's 13 games in 2006.
``Maurice was one of the players we needed to step up when injuries hit our football team last year,'' coach Tommy Bowden said.
Nelson's brother, Roosevelt Nelson, played under Bowden from 2002 to 2004 and is an assistant football coach at Crestwood High School in Sumter.
