BUFORD - A 28-year-old Cumming woman was killed in a traffic accident Thursday night in Buford.
It happened on Buford Dam Road near Sycamore Road about 10:00.
Cpl. Illana Spellman of the Gwinnett County Police Department said Ashley Ann Rinaldi was pronounced dead at Northside Medical Center.
Spellman says the investigation shows that Rinaldi's car crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head-on. The driver of the second car, Philip Woodrow Hayes, 53, Buford, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Cpl. Spellman said drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to have been a factor in the crash and it was not immediately known if either driver was wearing their seat belt.
