Coastal Carolina runs past Georgia State

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Jack Leasure scored 18 points, all on 3-pointers, to rally Coastal Carolina to a 79-68 victory over Georgia State on Saturday night.

The Chants (6-5) trailed by 44-27 with 19:14 remaining at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. That's when Coastal Carolina found its game.

Phil Wallace had a pair of threes as the Chants went on an 18-5 run over the next 6:10 to cut the lead to 49-45. Then Coastal had a 10-2 run to take its first lead of the half 55-51.

After the Panthers (3-6) regain the lead 57-56, Coastal Carolina moved in front for good on consecutive 3-pointers from Steven Sexton.

By the time the Chants finished off a 16-5 run, they were ahead 72-62 with just over a minute to play.

Everage Richardson had 16 points and Wallace 15 for Coastal Carolina.

Trae Goldston had 20 points to lead Georgia State. Leonard Mendez chipped in 14 for the Panthers.
