Gladiators Burn Inferno, 4-1

DULUTH - Miles Stoesz notched his second goal of the season to help the Gladiators to a 4-1 win over the Columbia Inferno on Friday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Gwinnett got goals from four different goal scorers in the win while Jeff Campbell extended his assist streak to eight games for Gwinnett in the win.
With the win, the Gladiators improve to 17-5-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first period, Gwinnett took a 1-0 lead on Stoesz second goal of the season. Walking into the slot, Stoesz ripped a quick snap shot past Columbia netminder Todd Ford for the marker. Stuart MacRae collected the assist on the goal at the 3:34 mark of the second period.

Tomas Pospisil's second goal in as many games pushed the Gladiators lead to 2-0 on Columbia at the 7:49 mark of the second period. Trailing an odd-man rush by Matt Anderson and Mike Hamilton, Pospisil picked up a poke-checked puck in the slot and ripped a quick snapshot past Ford for the marker. Pospisil's
marker came unassisted for Gwinnett.

Columbia cut the Gladiators lead back to a goal at the 8:31 mark as Brad Ralph beat Gladiators netminder Craig Kowalski for the marker. Jeff Miles and Patrick Wellar notched the assists on the goal for Columbia.

Jeff Anderson's first goal of the year at the 10:14 mark regained the two goal advantage for the Gladiators. Moving into the slot, Anderson tucked the puck just inside the post to the short side for the marker. Chad Denny and Hamilton collected the assists on the goal for Gwinett.

Lou Dickenson pushed the Gladiators lead to 4-1 just 2:15 into the thrid period. Picking up a loose puck off the back dasher, Dickenson jammed the puck past Ford for the marker for Gwinnett. Dinos Stamoulis and Jeff Campbell collected assists on the goal for Gwinnett.

Craig Kowalski collected his fourth consecutive win for Gwinnett as he finished with 23 saves in the win.

The Gladiators were held scoreless on the power play on two chances in the win. The Gladiators also held Columbia Scoreless on their three man advantage chances.
