Expect to see water flowing through the streets of Gainesville next week

GAINESVILLE - Drought or no drought, there's some mandated testing of fire hydrants that must be done in Gainesville next week, meaning you may see some water flowing through the streets at times.

It's for insurance rating purposes and the testers have agreed to limit their work to only what is absolutely necessary.

The city says it will make every effort to return as much of the water as possible to the lake through the city's storm drain system.
