By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
DALTON - Bobby Gruhn, the late longtime head football coach at Gainesville High School, has been named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Gruhn, who was head coach at GHS for 29 years, compiled a 255-104-5 record and is tied for 18th on the all-time win list of Georgia high school football coaches. His teams made the playoffs 23 times, were region champs 16 times, made eleven trips to the Final Four, and played in the state finals four times.

Gruhn, who retired in 1992, died three years later. The football field at City Park is named for him.

He will be inducted into the hall of fame next summer.
