A Christmas miracle?

By Dean Dyer, WRWH
CLEVELAND - Some are calling it a Christmas miracle.

A two-year-old White County boy who wandered away from home Monday and was found by family members in a nearby pond was expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday.

White County Fire Department spokeswoman Ana Newberry said paramedics were updated on the child's condition Tuesday morning.

"He was very lucky," Newberry said. "The water was cold and it was cold outside, so he was very lucky."

Newberry said, the boy was breathing, but was experiencing some problems, when a Emory Life Flight helicopter left the scene on Pansy Drive east of Cleveland, heading for Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta.

The boy, whose name had not been released as of mid-morning Tuesday, had been missing for about 10 minutes Monday afternoon when family members discovered him in the water 20 to 30 feet away from the home.
