Hampton named Jackson County manager

JEFFERSON - Former Stephens County Administrator Darrell Hampton is the new Jackson County manager.

Hampton was chosen by the county commission Wednesday over two other finalists - one of them Oakwood City Manager Stan Brown.

Hampton will replace Crandall Jones, who was fired in February. The county commission attempted to fill the post during the summer, but was unable to come to an agreement with any of the finalists emerging from the first set of applications and had to start the process over.
