OAKWOOD - The Flowery Branch football team finished the regular season in strong fashion taking a 41-7 win over West Hall Friday night.
The win improved the Falcons to 9-1, 4-0 in Region 7B-AAA and wrapped up the No. 2 seed from the region and a first round home game in next week's Class AAA playoffs.
Brothers Jaybo and Connor Shaw got things started early for the Falcons connecting on a 42-yard touchdown pass. The Shaw brothers would hook up three more times to the endzone in the blow out win.
Conner then took over at quarterback for Jaybo in the second half. The pair combined for 377 yards passing with four touchdowns.
The falcons defense also played well holding West Hall's Marquise Stevens to just 50 yards on 14 carries for the game. The Spartans were held to under 200 yards of total offense for the game.
West Hall's only score came on a 14-yard scoring catch by as the clock expired ran out.
Falcons coach Lee Shaw was very pleased with his teams overall performance.
"We wanted to finish strong and have some momentum going into the playoffs," he said.
The Falcons will take on Chamblee out of Region 5-AAA next week in the first round of the playoffs.
