Forsyth water ban violators 'outed'

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
CUMMING - As local government officials around the state seek more ways to get people to conserve water, the Forsyth County Commission chairman has "outed" a number of violators of outdoor water use restrictions.

Charles Laughinghouse recently released the names of seventeen businesses and homeowners associations who have each been charged with violations more than four times... one with 12 citations.

Laughinghouse also said there was one individual homeowner with five violations on record but he did not release that name.

On Thursday night, the county commission stiffened the penalties for the restrictions to include a $1,000 fine for a second and third offense, and the possibility of jail time for a third offense.
