GAINESVILLE - Veterans will be in the spotlight at West Hall High School and middle school early next month.
The high school is going to honor veterans with a special ceremony at 11:00 on November 2, featuring a WHHS graduate who was seriously wounded while serving with the Army in Afghanistan.
Army Spec. Channing Moss will be the featured speaker. Last month, Moss was featured on ABC-TV's 20/20 in a segment that detailed focused on Moss and the men who helped to save his life after a live rocket was lodged in his side during a combat mission in Afghanistan.
Moss starred on the Spartan football team while at West Hall and the school plans to name its new athlete weight-lifting complex after him.
Also, on Nov. 2, West Hall Middle School will dedicate its new Patriot Park at 9:30, with Congressman Nathan Deal as the featured speaker.
