ATLANTA - A group called Save Lake Lanier is planning to protest water releases from Lake Lanier Saturday.
According to the group's Web site, supporters are being asked to gather in the Chattahoochee River at the base of Buford Dam at 8 a.m.
That's the area where a huge rush of water spills through the dam when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers opens it gates.
Organizers are encouraging supporters to show up with their canoes, kayaks, inner-tubes... even hip-waders.
They hint that they realize they may be arrested while admitting they are not sure what, if any, federal laws they might be violating.
