CUMMING - Residential rezoning requests in Forsyth County would be halted for 180 days under a proposal to be considered tonight by the board of commissioners.
The proposed resolution notes the county is having trouble building the infrastructure to meet the population growth in one of the fastest growing counties in the country.
The ban on residential rezoning requests would be in place pending completion of a countywide "infrastructure survey" and a review of the Forsyth County Unified Development Code.
It would not affect land as it is currently zoned or rezoning applications received prior to the effective date of the moratorium.
