STARKVILLE, Miss. - Assistant coaches Charlie Harbison of Alabama and Pat Washington of Kansas State have been hired at Mississippi State, head football coach Sylvester Croom announced Thursday.
The two replace assistants Amos Jones and Guy Holliday, whom the school's news release said would be ``reassigned within the athletic department.''
Croom, in the statement released by Mississippi State, did not say what duties each coach had been assigned.
Harbison, 47, comes to MSU after four years at Alabama. It was the second time he had worked at Alabama, the first coming between 1997 and 2000.

Harbison had been a receivers coach at Alabama and LSU (2001-2002) but coached the defensive backs at Clemson from 1995 to 1997.
Washington, 43, spent the past season coaching receivers at Kansas State. Before that, Washington spent 11 years at Tennessee before being fired after the 2005 season.
Washington coached at Tennessee with Mississippi State offensive coordinator Woody McCorvey.
``He expressed a desire to work again with Woody McCorvey,'' Kansas State coach Ron Prince said Wednesday in a statement.
