FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas receiver Marcus Monk has decided to remain with the Razorbacks for his senior season, according to a published report.
Monk told The Morning News newspaper in northwest Arkansas for its Friday editions it was a difficult decision to forego the NFL Draft, particularly because he was projected as going as high as the second round.

``It's tough. You want to provide, especially in my situation. I want to provide for my family,'' Monk told the newspaper Thursday night. ``Sometimes, it's better to be patient.''
Underclassmen have until Monday to declare for the draft. Monk said he told coach Houston Nutt on Wednesday that he'd be back. Monk, the leading receiver for the Razorbacks last season, said he'd had several discussions with Nutt and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn over the previous several days.
Nutt and Malzhan's prospects for opening up the passing game next season improve with the retention off the 6-foot-6, 217-pound Monk.
``Just talking with my family and putting a whole lot of consideration into it, I decided it was best for me to come back,'' Monk said.
Two Razorback juniors, cornerback Chris Houston and defensive end Jamaal Anderson, have already said they will enter the draft, which will be conducted in April.
Arkansas finished 10-4 and with a No. 15 ranking. Monk said he wants to help the team improve on that next season.

``I don't want to just win 10 games,'' Monk said. ``I want to help win a national championship.''

Monk last season caught 50 passes for 962 yards and a school-record 11 touchdowns. Anthony Lucas had the previous record of 10 TD catches in 1998.
