Report: Monk decides to remain at Arkansas on more year

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas receiver Marcus Monk has decided to remain with the Razorbacks for his senior season, according to a published report.<br> <br> Monk told The Morning News newspaper in northwest Arkansas for its Friday editions it was a difficult decision to forego the NFL Draft, particularly because he was projected as going as high as the second round.<br> <br> ``It&#39;s tough. You want to provide, especially in my situation. I want to provide for my family,&#39;&#39; Monk told the newspaper Thursday night. ``Sometimes, it&#39;s better to be patient.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> Underclassmen have until Monday to declare for the draft. Monk said he told coach Houston Nutt on Wednesday that he&#39;d be back. Monk, the leading receiver for the Razorbacks last season, said he&#39;d had several discussions with Nutt and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn over the previous several days.<br> <br> Nutt and Malzhan&#39;s prospects for opening up the passing game next season improve with the retention off the 6-foot-6, 217-pound Monk.<br> <br> ``Just talking with my family and putting a whole lot of consideration into it, I decided it was best for me to come back,&#39;&#39; Monk said.<br> <br> Two Razorback juniors, cornerback Chris Houston and defensive end Jamaal Anderson, have already said they will enter the draft, which will be conducted in April.<br> <br> Arkansas finished 10-4 and with a No. 15 ranking. Monk said he wants to help the team improve on that next season.<br> <br> ``I don&#39;t want to just win 10 games,&#39;&#39; Monk said. ``I want to help win a national championship.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> Monk last season caught 50 passes for 962 yards and a school-record 11 touchdowns.
