Body found in Jackson Co. well

NICHOLSON - A body, believed to be that of a missing Oglethorpe County man, has been found in an abandoned well in Jackson County.

Authorities, who were acting on a tip that the body was there, believe the remains are those of David Allen Buriles who has been missing since December 21.

The body was pulled from the well about mid-morning Sunday; the search at the site had begun about 24 hours earlier.

Two men were jailed early this month on charges of aggravated assault in connection with Buriles' disappearance.
