DELAND, Fla. - James Florence poured in a career-high 36 points to lead Mercer to a 78-66 victory over Stetson Friday.<br>

Florence scored 24 points in the second half as Mercer rallied from a 38-23 halftime deficit. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound guard connected on 10 of 19 shots from the floor, including 8-of-13 shooting on 3-pointers.<br>

Ross Alacqua chipped in 15 points and Shaddean Aaron added 10 points and eight rebounds for Mercer.<br>

Garfield Blair scored a career-best 21 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for Stetson, which also got 14 points from Gabe McMillen.<br>

Mercer (11-10, 6-4 Atlantic Sun Conference) trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half as Stetson (7-14, 3-7) got off to a 34-15 lead. Mercer was behind 41-23 before outscoring Stetson 55-25 in the final 19:02 of the game.
